An idea has come about for a "Got it, Need it" Crunchers Trading section of the Forum. For posting messages that you need parts or have extra parts and maybe other team members could help or benefit. Any monetary transactions would have to be private as the site is not allowed to be officially used for sales. However I see no reason we can't barter with one another and at the very least give each other advice on the best sales and places to shop.

What do you folks think?

HEY PAWLY
I PLAN TO HOLLER AT RINTARIN AS SOON AS I FIND OUT WHAT I HAVE. I DON'T WANT TO GET HIS HOPES TOO HIGH. I MIGHT ONLY HAVE SMALL STICKS LIKE 32 MB. BUT I THINK I MIGHT HAVE A 128 AND A 256. I ALSO HAVE SOME STUFF AT WORK. A COUPLE OF OLD DESKTOP PII'S AND A BUNCH OF CARDS AND SMALL HD'S.
IF RINTARIN SEES THIS LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR.
SDRAM IS STILL AVAILABLE IN THE BIGGER COMPUTE STORES OUT WEST. SEEMS TO AVERAGE AROUND $100 ( $59 TO 160) PER 512 MB WITH A BIT OF LOOKING. 128 AND 256 ALSO.

DR.Z

Now look what you did... you got me itching to play old DOS games. Ya ya, i know, there's a few DOS emulators out there, but its just not the same 8)
I think i'll go and rummage through a few boxes and take a trip down memory lane... again :run:

I have too many boxes of ... classic, ya classic parts lying around. Does anyone need an 80mb harddrive or a 9600 baud modem? :wow:

Yo Zapp,

The rig I just pulled out of the garage currently contains a 64 mb and a 128 mb chip. Since I'm just planning on using it for a bit of extra crunching, a 256 mb chip of SDRAM would probably do just fine. A 512 mb would be great, but meh. I took a quick look on tigerdirect, and the chips are about the same price as (if not more expensive than) a 1 GB DDR2 chips (Corsair brand mind you...).
