Noticed by pure chance several weeks ago, that AMD's Athlon II's went triple & quad core. On checking the prices last week, couldn't believe that they were just over half the cost of a Phenom II equivalent. so ordered one (630 2.8ghz) with 2x 2gb DDR3 1333 ram. X4 cpu + 4gb DDR3 for a total of £167.52.....which IMHO, is pretty reasonable.

Just finished buiding it & transferring Andrea's music HD to it, as well as the 1gb gpu & creative sound card....finally got round to building a HTPC. It's running with the stock cooler & I'm amazed at how quiet it is compared to the X2 with the same number of fans installed.

Gonna use Andrea's old X2 for SBS 2008.

Been running for a week now & looking good. Think I might need to upgrade the gpu as there is a slight lag when watching a film.

Other than that, think that these cpu's are great value for the money.
