NET-2 has just turned up. It had 15 wu's on board, so copied them over to a pen drive & running them from my quad (yep, I closed down boinc on the quad). They were all high priority & should all be finished tomorrow (didn't want wingmen suffering).

On a side note, have hit 500k & according to boincstats, I should hit 1 mill by July 7th, I hoping to knock that down to June 14th, so I would hit a miilion on my 1st year.

Oh to have such firepower, 2 of my pcs are at my sisters in London and they keep switching them off all the time and another one in Ireland is getting the BSOD so I will have to figure the cause of that too :(

I should be at 1 mil this week but it's taken me over 7 years.

NET-2 on it's way back to owners. Only took 2 hours to reformat & re-install. Only problem I've come across was the pen drive. I didn't realise that I had to set NNT from BAM, so it downloaded another 26 wu's. Ah well, they will be crunched on the quad pretty quick, but it will show up on NET-2's a/c.

Sorry about that Grizz. That's the advantage of being a systems builder & working from home. Most of the rigs owners are related to each other, & they like competing with each other, which I sneakily use to my advantage. I'm pretty sure that had I just had my own rigs, it would have probably taken a couple of years.

Hey Timmygadget, why don't you use my sneaky tip which happens to hold a lot of truth. I tell customers that constant switching on & off shortens the life of all electrical equipment & I compare it to a lightbulb. I then tell them to leave system on but if not using, to switch off the monitor, only switching system off completely when they retire for the night. So far, it seems to be working pretty well.

FYI

13 April 2008
There will be some downtime on monday 14 April (in the evening, western European time) for a server software upgrade. Assuming all goes according to plan, it should be done within an hour..

Going to hit my target of 100k shortly, so the 2nd half of the month is going to be pure bonus.

I was just checking Computers on this account for ABC, I found three hadn't got any work after the server shut down.
All I did was update to get them going again.

I notice I'm up a spot without passing anyone, and membership is down to 54 from 55. Who did we lose?

Hi RedMenace, nice going. We have 9 Comp Crunchers in the top 20 & Pawly just moved up one, so he should be in the top 20 by the end of the month.

It is Rocoll, he was only helping out & he's gone back to Boinc@Australia.

Thanks for the help Rocoll, much appreciated.

Ahhh, I knew that. Thanks.

I'm running 4 cores hard on this. I haven't even played Halo this month ;)

Glad I could help guys.
Just pushing the score along a little, don't want to get in the way of the major players.

I'm still with you crunching QMC. Should have added a million points before I go.
Nice place you've got here. :)

It'd be kinda cool to do this as a team for some other team once in awhile.

The only problem is with the team founder, I don't think they can switch like that without transfering control of the team.

Sounds like we need a bit more power on ABC so I switched one machine over. As long as I can maintain a top 20 RAC at Rosetta I'll spare some cycles for POTM.

We need 605k in 10 days to make 5 mill.

It looks like I will be 4th by the end of the month. I think it's going to be a close run for 2nd between Frank Encruncher & Lunja.

Ah well, it was great while it lasted

Doesn't mean we're not going try.

That's a shame as I thought it would be an interesting finish. Also, just added another host (laptop that customer says is in constant use).

It lost internet connection over a week ago & she could not understand why. Took me over an hour to find out why - it had norton & it was somehow interfering with the firewall settings. simple answer was to uninstall, install AVG & boinc with her permission. Showed her how efficient it was as a diagnostics tool (her nephew already has it on his & also recommended it), so hopefully, she'll let me install iton her brother's desktop & laptop.

I don't know why but this host Dacom-3, a single core, seems to have more fun with long wu's. It just completed another 2 in the past 21 hours.
