I've just been informed that there are crunchers on this project that have had their IP Address blocked. Unfortunately, I've found that I'm one of them - Can't understand as to why, as all I do is just crunch it.

Can someone visit the forums & possibly find out why the block is there & as I can't get to the front page, can someone pm me Tobias e-mail, so that I can ask him.

Seems the servers are being hits with a DDoS attack.
I really hate the pinheads that pull that bs.
Hopefully he can get it sorted out

I'd do it, but I'm in the same boat as you.

I know he was having issues with DOS attacks a little while ago so maybe he just got a little over zealous....

EDIT 1:

Actually just got on the front page - took about 5 minutes to load. I think it's simply a bandwidth usage issue - I don't think his project servers can handle the number of tasks he's allowing per host. My hosts eventually upload correctly, but it sometimes takes several hours worth of retries.

Tobias's email is info@freehal.org

EDIT 2:

Server seems to be overloaded. From the forums (http://web.freehal.org/node/506):

"On September 2nd, 2009 Admin says:
At this moment nothing works as it should...

Tobias"

Thanks guys. I'll leave it to sort itself out. Tobias doesn't need more hassles via e-mail.

FYI - Freehal recently changed it's numbers of simultaneous wus so that you can set preferences based on home/work/etc. As a result all settings were returned to the default of "1", so if you want to crunch 25 at a time per host you need to go back into your freehal preferences and recongifure things...

Oh no Freehal has a problem. Today I just got over a million credits on that project, too good to be true, as I am only getting 10-15K per day normally.
