Been crunching WU's for a while so thought I might as well join a Team in Canada so credit goes where credit is due. I could crunch numbers faster but as I use this machine for a lot of other stuff and my volunteer work I have GPU use turned off for Boinc so as not to slow me down and/or overheat things.
I'm usually to be found over at the McAfee Security forums where I am a moderator or on the Microsoft newsgoups helping out.
However, I am no guru in all things computing by any means, so don't expect me to solve everyone's issues....LOL

System Summary:
Alienware ALX X58
ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 M/B
CPU: Core i7-975 @ 3.89ghz
12gb DDR3 RAM
2 TB HDD
Nvidia GTX295 Graphics
Running Vista Ultimate SP2 x64 and Windows 7 Ultimate x64 in a multi-boot scenario.

Welcome to the team Peter.
Nice machine, I have an i7-920@2.75( just a wee OC),a 500Gb HD, 6GB's ram and a GTX275, on an EVGA x58 SLI LE M/B, Running Vista Home Basic x64.
I use mine for games and crunching, one day I may even install a printer on this machine, for now my old machine does any printing I need.
Bruce

I'd love to get an i7-980, but I haven't won the lottery yet, so i'm stuck with my 920. Maybe if they come down in price by 50% or so I might buy one, but I just cant justify that kind of expense for a computer at this time, the 920 was expensive enough for me.

Yes they are very good and expensive too, I would have a 975 in mine, but even though I had the $ to spend when buying this machine, I just couldn't make myself spend aprox $1300( I think) for my CPU.... Now that the 980's are out I bet they are even more expensive, I'm not too sure on the price. I haven't bothered to look at something I might want but cant afford.
Ya got me wondering, so I went to TigerDirect and checked out the prices, A 980 is only $1200 its actuall $150 cheaper than a 975! Its got 6 cores too,( Drool)

Welcome aboard, pull up a chair, the barkeep will be around shortly... i think :P

Big numbers arent a must have in this team.
You can contribute as much or as little as you want and youll still be welcome.
Quality over quantity and all that. :)

Thanks. :-D My last rig was a P4 @ 3.0GHZ, 4GB of RAM which was all I could have with 32-bit. I think the motherboard was the only original thing left on it when I donated it to charity. I had added so much to it and replaced everything that was detachable.. just about.

Every slot was taken plus all the IDE and SATA ports were occupied by drives, so they got a pretty good machine, even if they just took it apart for the parts.
