Not sure where to post this topic, Q&A/Tech News?

Question - Have self built server where music/video/files can be accessed from any system in the house, & pretty good at that. Have a Geoforce 7300 gpu & have tried to connect to 28" TV in lounge which has external video/audio connections. No joy.

Is a dedicated GPU/TV required or am I doing something wrong, either connections or settings - or maybe both?

Magic, thanks Pawly. Just checked & found that the gpu has s-video & so does the TV. Unfortunately the cable that I have is nowhere near long enough. So will have to get a longer cable.

Finally got this problem sorted. Upgraded Andrea's rig at the weekend with a 19" Widescreen & a Geoforce 9500GT. Cables were long enough & it's a sheer joy to see it on the TV. Only problem now is that I've got to buy a wireless keyboard & mouse
