Cell Phone Numbers Go Public this month.

REMINDER .... All cell phone numbers are being released
to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sale calls.

YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell
phone: 1 866-580-3625 or 888-382-1222.

It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a
minute of your time.

It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call
from the cell phone number you want to have blocked.
You cannot call from a different phone number.

Or you can do it online at http://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/
HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS..
It takes about 20 seconds

Yep the Do-Not-Call-List is awesome!

Thanks for the advice, my cellphone's bill wouldn't have been happy with salesmen for sure!

ON ANOTHER TYPE OF SECURITY NOTE.

IF YOU USE COMBINATION LOCKS FOR ANYTHING , WATCH THIS VID. THEN GO BUY A KEYED LOCK.
THIS VID WAS RECORDED BY A COUPLE OF SCHOOL KIDS.

Not much security there either - just Google "lock bumping" some time...

WELL CRAP !
THANKS USER312. THAT WAS ONE I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT. THAT ONES NOT MUCH DIFFERENT FROM PICKING.
ONE METHOD OF PICKING IS "SCRAPING", PUTTING A BIT OF TENSION ON IT WITH THE PICK WRENCH THEN SLIDING THE PICK ACROSS THE TUMBLERS. THIS METHOD REQUIRES 2 TOOLS COMMONLY MADE FROM BIKE SPOKES. I HAVE A FEW PICKS BUT THEY ARE USED STRICTLY FOR HELPING THE OWNER IN AN EMERGENCY AND NOT FOR ANYTHING CRIMINAL.
IN THE LONG RUN, THERE ISN'T MANY LOCKS THAT CAN'T BE BEAT. THE INGENUITY OF THE YOUNG CROWD SHOWS THAT THE LOCK BUSINESS NEEDS SOME SERIOUS RE-THINKING.
BIKE LOCKS ARE ONE KIND THAT HAVE HAD LOTS OF PROBLEMS. I NEVER TRUST BIKE LOCKS FOR MY RIDE. I DON'T LEAVE IT ANYWHERE I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT.
I SUPPOSE THE BEST THING TO DO IS RESEARCH A LOCK BEFORE YOU BUY IT IF YOU WANT SOMETHING REALLY SECURE.

ANY OTHER TYPES OF LOCK BUSTING OUT THERE ??? LETS HEAR ABOUT IT !

Bumping has been around for decades, it's just not overly publicized for obvious reasons. The crappy part is that if there is no evidence of forced entry (picking, broken window, etc) insurance companies won't pay out - since bumping leaves no physical trace (unlike picking) it really screws you over if it happens to you. Word to the wise - if you come home and are have been burgled - scrape the crap out of your lock tumblers so it looks like it's been picked. Same applies to any lock manufacturers "warranty". I've seen the cylinder style locks (aka bike locks, laptop security cable locks, etc) picked using ball point pens and thin cardboard so you know how useful their "warranty" really is. That being said, there are some supposedly "bump-proof" locks that can be purchased, but I stick with the old alarm it and forget it approach. I only ride old crappy looking bikes now as I've lost a few down the road and won't invest lots of money in anything that can't be moved easily or alarmed. I used to install hidden kill switches in my vehicles too, but I'm too lazy to do that now (besides, newer vehicles are just a pain to work with and I don't want to void my warranty by screwing around too much with the wiring).

As I've heard said many times before "locks are only to keep honest people honest"...

LOL
I DO AGREE WITH YOU THERE. IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW COMPLICATED A LOCK IS, SOMEONE WILL FIGURE A WAY TO GET PAST IT.
AS FOR SCRATCHES ON A LOCK, IF THERE ARE SCRATCHES THEN IT WAS AN IDIOT AND USING THE WRONG TOOLS.
USING A SET OF PROPER PICKS PROPERLY LEAVES NO TRACES.
BUT I AGREE THAT SCRATCHING IT MIGHT BE A WAY TO MAKE SURE YOU GET WHATS COMING TO YOU FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY. WE ALL KNOW HOW INSURANCE COMPANIES JUST LOVE TO PAY OUT.
