I think all canadian boards deserve a hockey thread!

Any fans here?

Who's your team? I know a lot of people are shocked about the Habs 4-0 loss in their series against Boston... I'm not... not so much of a Habs fan myself.

My team is the Calgary Flames! They lost their first 2 games, but are now even 2-2 in their series against Chicago.

Maybe there's some Vancouver fans as well here. They did great, wiping a 4-0 win over the St.Louis youngsters.

Anyone wants to predict the Cup winner? Or the finalists?

San Jose had a good shot at it, but now they're chocking again in the playoffs so I rule them out of my potential-winner list. I'd say Pittsburgh or Boston in the East, against Detroit or Vancouver in the West... although I'd prefer much more to see Calgary in the final... but the key of the playoffs is goaltending, so I think Vancouver has a better shot. I love Kiprusoff, but he gives a lot of goals this year...

Finally, I'd say Pittsburgh against Vancouver in the final. Osgood and Thomas may change the portrayal, if they're good. They're unreliable, though, playing pretty well sometime, but sometime pretty bad too.

I'D SAY THE FLAMES AS WELL, DESPITE THEIR POOR RECORD IN PLAYOFFS.
NOW THE CALGARY HITMEN WHL IS A DIFFERENT STORY
11 GAMES IN A ROW. UNDEFEATED IN THESE PLAY-OFFS. THEY ARE HEADING FOR A CLEAN SWEEP

I don't follow the game much during the regular season, but the Red Wings have impressed me in the few games I've watched so far. This could be their year - again.

My heart is with the Canadian teams, but right now my head says Detroit.

The Flames are out in 6 games against Chicago!!

That was sad... Now, I guess I should cheer for Vancouver, since it's the only Canadian team still out there.

Luongo is the key, for sure. I like Pittsburgh in the East.

Let's say Pittsburgh wins over Washington, Boston wins over Carolina, and Vancouver wins over Chicago, and Detroit wins over Anaheim.

Vancouver-Chicago series starts tonight at 9 PM ET, 6 PM PT.

No kidding... I'm working 10 PM to 6:30 AM tonight.... Must go by 9 PM I won't see a bit of the game 1...

The worst about this, they called me late in the afternoon to tell me I'll be working all night... can't get any good sleep before...

Anyways... I consider myself lucky to have a job with a good paycheck...

Prediction for tonight: Vancouver 3-1 Chicago

Guess someone called in "sick" on game night! Sorry you're gonna miss the game, but if you're going to miss one Game 1 is the one to miss as it's the "feeler" game. Things generally don't get really interesting until Game 3...

Well, it's unlikely someone in Quebec city would call 'sick' to watch a Canucks' game... ;-)

Night shift isn't so popular at the hospital (I'm working as a janitor in a hospital). We're only 4 people for the whole place, which means pretty much a lot of work. But last night was quite calm, good for me. I worked about 4 hours and got paid for 8 hours. I did all the job I had to do, and I was waiting for some action but nobody felt like getting an emergency surgery so I didn't have any more work. It was really worth it ;-)

------------------

About the game: 5-3 Canucks! Of course, as I mentioned before, I didn't watch the game, but the score tells me Luongo wasn't THE factor in that one, which means good things for Vancouver: they can score 5 goals  Well, it was 3-3 with 2 minutes to go... and the 5th goal was an empty-netter.. and Chicago overcame a 3-0 Vancouver' lead... This series might be really interesting down the stretch!

It was a pretty good game, but didn't get really interesting until the 3rd period. Looks like it may shape up to be a good series...

Chicago-Det will be an awesome series! Two original 6 teams at polar opposite ages... the oldest vs the youngest teams.
I love the Chicago team...
Whoever loses has an excuse too..
Detroit: "Well, we just couldn't keep up to their legs"
Chicago:"We just lacked the experience of the defending champs."
It will be a good one that's a no brainer!

I can't wait to see Pittsburgh against Chicago!

Either it's Chicago or Detroit who wins the series, the final against Pittsburgh will be awesome! The revenge, or the two best young teams in the league!

I can't see how Carolina might manage to win this series.

My predictions: Pittsburgh, in 5. Chicago, in 7.

Today is the first of June - and hockey should NOT still be on the air!!
My vent is over -- GO WINGS!!! I grew up 70 K from Detroit and have
supported the Wings from even before the DEAD THINGS days of the
70's and 80's.

Oh my god Detroit surprises me...

I want Pittsburgh to win, but I have to admit it's almost 'mission impossible' now! Where's Tom Cruise!?

I don't blame the loss on the referees, but I'm getting sick on how the zebras are working in the playoffs! All the season they called interference and slashing and crosscheking..... and now they let the play going whatever the players do! How's that!?!
