Why is it that at the Seti@Home site under statistics Canada is only showing 234 million total credit? Is this a different number? Sorry , I'm kinda new to this forum, but I have been gaining credits for quite a while. (slowly tho'....comparatively speaking...lol ) I'm guessing this is due to the difference between work units and credits? How do they relate to each other? Thanks!

234 million is the number of credits we have accumulated at Seti, the 1 billion credits is the total we have for ALL the projects that we run. Credits are awarded differently at most projects, some award more than others because of the difficulty/compexity of the WU's that are run. Credits are set at some projects by running them on a PIII 800 as a base to tally what credits to award (I think its is given 100 credits for a days work, not really sure.) So if your machine is faster than a PIII 800 you will get more than 100 credits per day. If anyone can explain it better please do, I might have misunderstood some of the formula myself.
