Hi Guys,

I got a bit tired of seeing the temp applets in the red (49 to 51 C, with ambient at 21), so I put in one of those sealed radiator + waterpump things (Corsair H70).
Was I being paranoid? This dropped the CPU full load temperature by 10 degrees C, all the way to 41. What is an OK temperature 24/7? AMD Phenom quad in a Coolmaster case, one 200mm intake, one 200mm exhaust, and the new fans for the radiator installed as intakes at the back of the case (seems strange, putting them as intake, but that's what Corsair said to do).

Rick

Ya that's a bunch warm. I don't think you went out of control, my temps in my I7's are in the 27 C range on both cpu and gpu. I also water cooled em. Even before I added liquid cooling the temps were in the hi 30's I did some reading and on the gpu front they recommend they should never get above 38 C. I personally think running 24/7 the temps should be a little lower. Good luck.

Not sure, 85-88F with the stock fan and speeds, seemed a little warm for me
As for the 5870's in the box without the water cooling the fans on those drove me
Crazy ramping up and down for each workunit, have it set up as a media center in the
Living room with carpet and dust it is not the best environment for a crunching GPU box,
that's the reason for the liquid cooling, and I am not so diligent at cleaning them out.
