I think we should just skip right over the Dual Core and Quad Core stuff ...... Let's go right for WARP core!! Dilithium powered and and routed through the Transporter Buffer. It could be broadcast via the Sensor Array and stored in the Holo-suites!

Just a Thought!

You my friend watch waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much star trek, I worry for you

I've seen that site linked before so I'll assume it does the job just fine. Personally I'm using Borg's optimized app, and haven't tried any others. I can vouch only for what I've tried, and both the SSE2 and SSE3 versions have given me great results (roughly doubled my output).

I've run them in the past, but have not currently been using them. I started optimizing the clients myself and team-genesis, and have offered them to others. I can't comment on the performance between lunatics and ours cause I have not benchmark them against each other. But in the past there was only small differences between them.

Mr. the Borg i was useing the old Amd optemized client since the weekend ( fresh formated HD ), and i was showing 24 rejected WU, installed the new optemized client tonight, restarted BOINC and then it showed those 24 WU sent to seti, any ideas as to why?? Or was it just co-incedence??

Hey Flight, I'd wait for Borg to confirm, but I'd guess that it is more coincidence than anything. I too (along with at least one other Team-Genesis member) had some WUs that were "canelled by project" (I don't think that was the exact wording... but something like that). I had that come up twice for a total of over 20 WUs. If I recall correctly someone on our Team Forum also mentioned that other participants on SETI had brought this up as well. I hadn't switched to Borg's latest release, but HAD just updated the Boinc client to version 5.10.7 from 5.8.16 and wondered if that was the issue, but it seems wider spread than that, so conclude what you will.

Cheers :)

Just dropped the Core2 Duo optimized in, and ive got to say im surprized already.

-Original-
Time given to completion of WU : 3h30
Time taken to complete the WU : 2h30

-Optimized-
Time given to completion of WU : 3h30
40% done in 28 min so far

So if this isnt a fluke (and i got the time right) ill be shaving about an hour on each WU. :-D

Is there any plans to optimize other BOINC projects?

it's shame cause even if the app was shut down i had one wu done and ready to be sent...cause servers are down on tuesdays and after installing the amd optimization tool it scrapped the one done, scrapped the one 50% done and restarted....should have had waited on a wednesday when servers are back up and when my wu was only 1% done...

A good habit to take is to finish off all remaining WU and report them in before updating BOINC or optimized apps. Lessens the chance of something like that happening.

Has anyone heard of a beta SSE4.1 SETI optimizer?

I have a QX9650 that will run that extension.

I'm prepared to give, to the first person who can send me this app, my first born son.
