FYI - for those that don't know how to set resource share for WCG it's different than for other BOINC projects. Here's the quick instructions:

1. Log into WCG (using BAM will not work due to the way WCG is set up)
2. Select "Device Manager" from the links on the left-hand side; this will cause a sub-heading of "Device Profiles" to appear under the "Device Manger" heading
3. Select "Device Profiles"
4. Under "BOINC Device Profiles", select the profile you want to change (for me it's just "Default" as I don't keep different profiles)
5. Under "Cross Project Settings" (bottom of the page) edit the entry for "Project Weight" (1=less work; 1000=more work - so set it to 1000 to crunch more often!)

You can also choose which projects you want to run from here, but check the system requirements (link on the right hand side of the page) before choosing any to ensure you have a good enough system. Most projects run on Win98 and up and require 250MB of RAM (except AfricanClimate@Home = 512MB) and require 200MB-1GB of hard drive space.

Let's show 'em Canada is up to the Challenge!

I'll switch over a couple of boxes (quad core and 3-4 Pentium Ds) in a few days and we'll make up some points then. I'm just finishing off a few minor project goals first (oddly enough, one of them's Yoyo@home!)...

Increasing PoTM crunch time by an additional 15%. We'll make up those numbers in a jiffy.

Just switched a quad core and 2 Pentium Ds over - they'll be crunching full time by this evening or tomorrow morning (just running down their caches).

Thanks user312, I increased my resources on this project as well. Anybody else?

Just a few more wu on SHA-1 and I'll have more cycles for this one.

Added another couple of P4s into the mix so I'm up to just over 20 cores dedicated now. Don't have a whole lot of other PCs with enough RAM to switch over at this time so that might be it for me. I'll take a closer look later tonight and see if I can scrounge up a few more somewhere...

I have it running on a system with 256 MB of RAM. It just runs the projects you have enough RAM for.

I cranked it up a bit too. Had a few SHA 1's to finish (and a few assorted other projects).

All projects have a minimum of 256MB RAM, however I have a lot of PCs with 256MB - xMB stolen for on-board video cards so they typically show up with less than 240MB. I also have a few boxes with 128MB (believe it or not!) so I typically limit these boxes to math based projects only due to their low RAM requirements (ABC, PrimeGrid, SHA-1 and RCN (~2 days) all over 250,000 credits!).

Found a few more cores "lying around" that I've thrown at WCG for now so that'll put me at 25 dedicated cores by tomorrow. Hopefully that'll help the numbers a bit (I was only at 5 or 6 cores before...).

Only 246,496 points now separate us from the number 2 team so I think we'll need a few more dedicated crunchers to put some real distance between us and the competition. Let's get crunching everyone!
