My computers on WCG are probably helping it... I should be able to get a Core 2 Duo dedicated to WCG online this weekend as well.

Sorry my numbers have been a little low the past couple of days. My quad was in pieces across the floor while I upgraded some parts (I hate this case!) and made it a blood computer (as in it cut me and I had fun cleaning out the blood). I've also had some lock-ups recently, but I had installed some new software. All that's removed now, so it should be alright, but we'll see by morning.

Anyhow, everything is back online now, so my levels should return to normal over the next couple of days. I'm working on converting a couple of peeps from Legacy, so we may get a couple more boxes. Cross your fingers!

I'm cranking mine up too. I should be able to crunch an additional 5k by end of month.

I just returned my last non-WCG wu, and I suspended my CPDN. I aborted a bunch of wu's that weren't started yet. I'm now 100% WCG until Christmas. I set my additional work buffers to 10 days to get a load of wu's.

While i normally use a 3 day buffer, WCG has the nasty habit of sending stuff my way with a very short tine to run them so im using 1/2 a day atm.

ie: I currently have 10 WU, the first 7 have deadlines of 23-25, the last 3 are due tommorrow.

I know BOINC will "try" to run those in high priority, but if i take a whole chunk of WU and theres alot of those short deadlines in there itll be just a waste

anyway, my 0.02¢

I know what you mean. Leiden does that to me. I'm ready to cut them off because of it. These wu's were all coming in for the 23-27th which I should be able to handle. I reset it back to 1 day. If I can't crunch em all, I assume they get thrown back in the pot for someone else to do.

Had a pretty steady night and day of crunching except my wife shut down my laptop at 4am. She has this fear of laptop batteries bursting into flames, even when I pull it out. My son only played Halo II for two hours ;)

Ya, I think she has a hard time pumping electricity into it too. She's coming around though. I'm working on her chem degree background. She can't argue the science ;)

Somebody's been crunching hard! We are now number one with a 52926 lead

I think you are looking at the daily standings RedMenace. We are still second place but closing the gap. Oh! And this is for you and the wife! http://teamcanada.freeforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=371

Got a few PM's from a few shy crunchers informing me of more Cores joining the fray, 2 of the comps being 16 core servers for a few days of crunching at least.

Keep Crunching!

Ha, just checking the enemy here and to say hello!

Do not cheer to early, the challenge is not over yet. Making cows angry is never a good idea.

Oh, and if we loose:
BLAME CANADA!

Seriously though: you give a good challenge, making the race so much more fun. Thanks for that.

OK everyone,

If you can set your work cache to 4 days or more of work units it's a good idea. I got 8 days worth.

That way, after a WU sits on your station for a few days the other cruncher needed to validate the WU will probably be done.

When you return your WU it should validate right away and not sit pending past Dec. 24th.

Advanced > Preferences > Network Usage - Additional work buffer field.
