Next weekend, NET-2 will be offline for approx 12 hours. Just been round there & upgraded ram. MS downloaded updates & all of a sudden it came up illegal software. WGA had d/l'ed. What they had done was installed a copy of XP Pro with a banned Volume License Key.

So will have to reformat, & reinstall everything as their system has a legal XP Home key (silly billies).

Will d'l boinc to pen drive before reformatting. More money for me!!!!

My late mum often told me an old quote, & unfortunately, it's quite true: - "A fool & their money are soon parted", in this case, very true!

@ Sirius B

Can't you just update the license key via the key update tool available at microsoft rather than spend all the time to reformat and reinstall everything?

I think the difference is they installed the "Pro" version when they have a "Home" license so the license key change won't work as they are different versions.

User312 is correct. Also, it was an illegal key, so the upgrade would have had to be paid for. They have a legal "Home" key & I'm not bothered on how long it takes as they're paying for my time.

Nice project. If I was a credit hound, I would certainly stick with this one. In 7 days, I've had 5 wu's totalling 4,982.33 credits (not all on the same rig unfortunately).

You've shot past Pawly & just 1100 TC behind Zappdog - that was quick.

JPLiz, are you sure it's a virus? It could be the Patch Tuesday Blues. See my thread in the Q&A Board - I've 2 rigs down

Lets try for 5mil by the end of the month.

We going to need some help if we are going for 5 mills. Some off our big crunchers are not part off this run. Lets hope for the best.

Just checked the stats, we need 1,111,313.40 in 21 days. I think we might just scrape in.

On a side note, I can't believe it! I am just 8 spots away from entering the top 100 participants 8)

Did you go to the Canada ABC boincstats page and put in your target, it should give a date for reaching the 5 million at our current rate of crunching

No, just went to team stats & roughly guessed. At the current rate, we should just scrape in by the 30th.

I normally have a combined RAC of 1800 on all my computers and I try to keep Seti above 1000 but I have shuffled stuff around to give Seti a break and also I want to try and give Zappdog a chase, ABC now has the highest resource on my pcs, its not much but every little counts :-D

@ timmygadget

I SEE YA COMIN UP BEHIND ME. I SHOULDN'T HARD TO CATCH CAUSE MY BOXES ARE MAXXED OUT NOW.
MY RAC WILL BE CLIMBING A FAIR BIT SLOWER. I WON'T MAKE THE TOP 10.
BUT WE ARE DOIN PRETTY GOOD. WE ARE CLIMBING SLOWLY.

@SIRIUS B
NICE TO SEE YOU WAY UP THERE AS WELL. IT LOOKS LIKE BLADE WILL BE A HARD ONE TO CATCH.

Well Done RedMenace. It is nice when one gets those.

@Zappdog, thanks. It's a shame that it isn't POTQ (Quarter), I might have had a chance to catch him. I never thought I'd reach 2nd, 10 to 15 maybe....

Congrats
Plus you got User of the Day

I got couple of days on Predictor to get it over the 1 million credit mark then I'll turn the farm over to ABC.

Then we'll see if we can hit 5 million mark on ABC.

Another satisfied customer. Another new host for ABC & my account. This one was a pain. Vista home basic with 512mb & plenty of virus'es.

Will be upgrading the ram to 2gb next weekend. Several more like this, & I might just be able to catch Blade 8)

We have moved up to 14th by RAC and by the numbers we are putting up we are curently on track to hit 4.7 mil by the end of the month, but it looks like our RAC is still going up so we should be close to the 5 Mil goal.

Good job Team!!! :yay:
