Thanks guys. Yeah, I've stocked the freezer full of ice cream (not that I mind). I'm more worried about the 3am "damnit I want a McDonalds Cheese burger now" sort of thing.
I luckly will not be loosing the crunchin room to the little one. I've got another room that I'm working on right now to fix up. Refinish the floors, fix walls, paint, some electrical and it'll be ready to go... good thing I've got a few months still.

Right around my birthday on the 14th, should be easy to remember!

Same b-day as my son! Kids birthday parties in August are great because you can spend the whole day outside - BBQ, pool, sprinklers, games...ah, summer....

As I've posted photos of my "little farm" & the "little lady", I thought I'd post a photo of myself. Don't stare too long at it though.....your monitor might crack

Here's my setup:
Image
Image
I just got a new computer on Tuesday!!! :comp3: My old computer (nearest the wall) is a Seanix, which is a generic brand really, and has had a lot of problems over the two years I've had it, so now I went with an HP, a brand that I've had in the past. It's a quad core Q6600, 3 gig ram, 1 TB harddrive, Vista Ultimate and I can't believe how fast it is! So far I'm only running SETI, Einstein, CPDN, World Community Grid and LHC on it, and in the last three days since I got it, my credits have jumped almost 2500 points.
For displays I have my Prima 32" hi-def television and a 19" Acer monitor. I have 4 external drives and far too many cables. When I set the new computer up, I tried to keep everything organized. I even had velcro ties, but in the end, I was just inundated. Argh!

Even though the quad has been running for a couple of months, finally finished completing it. Just need another 2 tb drives in the top backplane. Had to get 1 yesterday as I got a new icon on the taskbar that I've never seen before. A little HD saying Low Disk Space! 7tb & I'm running out of space, unbelievable!
Image

Also upgraded Andrea's case & already I've had 5 offers - Even my brother wanted it & he's the IT specialist!

No, just transferred everything out of her old case. The board is an Asus A8V-VM micro ATX.

@JPLiz, thanks. I've been wanting to finishing decorating, but solicitor said no. They were in last week with a camcoder recording the whole property. Have already been informed that tomorrow will just be a formality as the request to transfer the case to the Crown Court will be approved, but still have to attend.

Unfortunately, we won't know for some time when the case will be held at Crown. Both of us are really lookng forward to have this problem solved, as at the moment, it's impeding our finances.

Finally got around to getting the case I've wanted for my server.

Coolermaster Cosmos R1000

Internal...

Will swap my desktop kit into the Aqua server case & then totally reorganise as it's a total mess at the moment...

I was looking at these online lately. Let me know what you think of it. If all goes well, I'd love to build a new system around it.

I'm going to leave this one till last as I've already spotted 2 possible problems. The top 4 drive bays (5th is for a floppy) only have those one-touch locking buttons with no screw holes on the opposite side, so I'm goinf to have to figure out how to lock the backplanes down.

The second on is the bottom HD bays - there might be a problem with the drive connectors. We'll see.

I'll post photos at each stage, other than that, I really like the case. I'm hoping to have them all done by this evening.

You ought to get one! The quality of the case is excellent & the joy of freedom of space is unbelievable! Just installed the mobo & compared to the Aqua case, the mobo looks really small!

Can't wait to get it finished!

Got it finished, & boy does it look good!

Image

RedMenace, if you do go for one, make sure that the drive connectors are long enough.....

Image

Those 3 empty bays are for 3x 500gb IDE drives when I can get hold of them. The mobo has 9 sata + 1x e-sata. 3x sata's in side bays & 6 in the backplanes. There was no problem installing the BP's & they locked down great. The floppy space had adapters in them so took them out.

Finally started tidying up (no choice - missus a bit miffed). Had originally decided to build a racking unit in the alcove to take 6 Aqua rigs - Unfortunately, as you can see, the Coolermaster makes them look like micro cases. Already designed & purchased parts to build it - but Coolmaster won't fit

Image

RedMenace, if you've got the space, I recommend you build one! As I have an Akasa EvoBlue 90mm CPU Cooler, 120mm fan on PSU, 2x 80mm fans on backplanes, with the 4 120mm fans onboard (1x HD Fan, 1x Exhaust Fan & 2x Top Fans), it really keeps things cool.

Another addition to my "little farm"....

External
Image

Internal
Image

Was a bit concerned with the psu situated at the front, but so far, it's been running about 35c under load. Asides from the 120mm fan on the psu & the cpu fan, there is only 1x 120mm & 1x 80mm fans on side panels & it's very very quiet.

If I do decide to keep this one, will have to upgrade to a gigabit nic as the board is only 10/100 & network is all gigabit.

New additions to workbench....midddle one just finished & loading O/S.

Image

All X2's - the one nearest the monitor is Dacom-5 - Keeping that one as it's a WS mobo. Server will be down later as transferring all kit into R1000 case, hopefully, shouldn't take more than an hour or so & then back crunching on POTM.

The one closest the monitor is another addition to the farm, the other 2 are sold, but they won't be picking them up until Xmas Eve as they don't want their kids to see them until Xmas Day (so I can burn them in using boinc  ).

I'm nearly brand new to the group/forums but here's two of my boxes:
I only just now realized I have a satellite above and the earth down below, on screen lol.
Image

One box is an eMachine and the other is a HP because I got them both at the time of purchase as seperate package deals that both included a digital camera and monitor.

The bottom two screens is my main computer, the box on the left:
HP
running 64 bit Ubuntu 8.10
Athlon X2 4600+ dual core
2 GB RAM
two 250GB HDDs
nVidia 7300GS or something lousy like that
dual Acer (fairly cheap) 19" widescreen monitors, 2880 x 900 combined

The top screen is my jukebox/video player, the box on the right:

eMachine
running 32 bit Ubuntu 8.10
Athlon XP 3000+
1 gig RAM
nVidia 6600GT
two HDDs: 160 and 120
decent quality HP monitor 17" 4:3

For speakers it is an old set of Logitech THX certified speakers that refuse to die after all these years. 200 watt subwoofer, and 4x 50 watt speakers. If you look you can see the audio cable goin from the jukebox to the main box, my simple way of getting both computers running on the speakers using what I could scrounge.

My XP box is upstairs for the family to use, I refuse to photograph it because I dont want a picture of that Windows trash on my digital camera :-P

The router (a Linksys) is also upstairs and these two boxes are running off of it with a 40 foot long cable. These two are hooked into the hub thats under the table (not a switch, not a router, a HUB.. ouch) and from there the 40 foot cable goes upstairs.. The setup is less than ideal.

The little orange rubber ducky is my friend I purchased at the Hooters Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas

Oh and yea, the monitor up top IS sitting on a cardboard box... ONLY THE BEST

EDIT: forgot the mouse... the mouse on bottom is a Logitech mouse that has two lasers, I absolutely love it.. I dont even know if Logitech still makes dual laser mouses.. Its the best idea ever.
