QMC was the first to reach 6 votes so unless there is another vote for SETI, QMC will win.

Edit: I'll let you know the winner at the right time.

Sounds like the best solution to me, I will only be able to crunch QMC though because of my commitments to another team on Seti so I have started on QMC already, the units are huge and are taking 30 hours to complete on my Windows dual core 2 x 1.73ghz but 660 credits for each one completed is good :-D Shame there is not an application for my macbook :(

Just my luck  That's what I get for jumping the gun! Hope QMC wins

To save a lot of hassle, just reset backup database on server & everything back to normal, alas, all backup logs gone, so immediately backed up all systems. Just reading manual to learn how to backup the "backup database" externally. Phew, only hours wasted instead of the whole weekend.

What I did find surprising is that WHS has been out over 6 months & only recently, numerous users have been coming across this problem as well as the copy one! Weird.

Anyone have any idea as to why computation errors crop up? nothing has been added or done to network. In the last fortnight, only 2 upgrades done - AVG V8 & XP SP3.

I've jumped the gun with QMC too ;) But I don't expect to contribute fully this month anyway. Besides vacation, it's deadline time on my project at work. I've been cutting my laptop back the last two months, and the next two weeks I will likely cut it back more. It's been a nice producer: a core duo T7200 @ 2.00GHz. The warmer weather is affecting it too. My cold bedroom is not so cold anymore :(

That is exactly the same cpu as my macbook duo, the same exactly 7200 @ 2ghz, spooky !

Hey Guys, what bugs me the most about computers is the USERS!!! I often wonder what it is that they do not understand about: - DO NOT MESS ABOUT WITH!

Take this guy: - NET-14 on my account, yes, the father & son combination. I noticed yesterday that they had a 41 hour wu practically completed only for it to be "Computation error". On checking their rig this morning, it won't log off or shut down, the 300gb Maxtor & Samsung 1tb drives are not showing up, but they are connected correctly.

Tried everything but could not resolve it. Racked my brains & still no joy. Just about to give up & noticed something different. They changed the PSU from an excellent modular one to a crappy cheapo as they wish to sell that rig & finish buying the parts for a quad.

System restore does not work. As I've never come across this situation before, the only solution that I can think of is to reformat & re-install (backing up the boinc directory to USB drive 1st & their data files).

Apparently, this has been happening for several days so they have been shutting down using the power button. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh well, it's their money as I won't don't this one as a neighbourly gesture - keep doing that & I'll end up starving to death!

Knew it was too good to last  Should manage to hold my no 1 position (rac) for another couple of days. Lunja steaming up fast behind me, should overtake before the weekend is over. Should manage to hold onto 2nd until the end of the month. 8)

I HOPE THE CREDITS ARE WORTH IT. SAME THING ON MY 2 GIG WITH 104 HOURS.

Dr.Z,
If you're talking about QMC's WU, they've been giving me between 600 to 700 credites each so far.
A wee bit over 10k a week is a huge score for me.

NET-1, a 2.8 Celeron has crunched nothing but large ones. The last one was 106 hours & paid out 619. Personally, I think they should do the same as ABC. All 100 hour or over wu's should automatically pay 1000.

Asides from that, it's a good project.

I must have lucked out. The last few that I've run lasted only 16-18 hours and I got 560-630 credits per wu. That seems to be the upper limit for credits. My credits have jumped by about 4000 since the start of the month.

I think this project is weird!

My 2.8 Celeron has done mostly long wu's of 100 hours or more & gets credited with 600/700. NET-3 has just completed a 54 hour one & gets this......
1467 ....not that I'm complaining. The more of these, the merrier

My core duo laptop is crunching the QMC units in 32 hours and on average I am receiving 660 points

Due to the mini heatwave here, quad can't run 4 cores with QMC, but found the ideal solution for the time being - 2 QMC & 2 Seti.

Heh heh heh, now I'm definitely going to stay in 2nd

I know. I turn some other projects on last night. It's going to slow me down a bit. :)

I've worked it out & there's no way I can catch Rintaran by the end of the month. However, it is going to be close between us for 3rd & 4th. Good luck & may the best cruncher be 3rd.
