ALSO A NICE CORNER OF FRANCE
EVEN THOUGH I QUIT DRINKING, I'D BE SPENDING TIME TOURING LOCAL VINEYARDS,
SOME GREAT WINES COME FROM DOWN THERE AND DOWN INTO SPAIN.
YOU MENTIONED TAKING YOUR OWN CAR NEXT TIME. WOULD YOU FERRY ACROSS OR THE TUNNEL ?

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that there is a direct crossing from Ireland to France.

Love the villa Timmy.

Ferry from Rosslare to Cherbourg which is an 18 hour overnight crossing, going to book a cabin on the boat to get lots of sleep because its a 10 hour drive from Cherbourg to Hossegor

28 hours, jeebers - It only takes 11 hours from Peterborough via Pembroke & Rosslare to Tipperary.

Last time we went, we timed it right - 4 hours (including break) to Pembroke. Onboard & sailed 35 min later. 4 hours 10 min to Rosslare. At Limerick Junction 2 hours 10 min after leaving Rosslare.

And even that is risky depending on how "hungry" the police are that day.

Jaysus, thats a bit pedestrian, even here in Ireland we have 120km/h on the motorways and 100km/h on the major roads and 80km/h on the smaller back roads

Well as far as I know the upper speed limit anywhere in the USA is 90 kph or 55 mph, hence the Sammy Hagar song 'I can't drive 55'. In Alberta it's 110 on the highways, 80 on secondary roads and generally 60 or 50 in the cities. School and playground zones are the worst with a 30 kph limit, might as well get out and walk.

@ KALU
AND DON'T FORGET THE MANY LITTLE TOWNS AND VILLAGES AROUND ALBERTA
THAT HAVE A SPEED LIMIT OF 25 KPH WITHIN THEIR LIMITS.
THAT REALLY SUCKS AFTER CRUISIN AT 110 TO 120. AND YOU DON'T DARE GO OVER THAT 25 KPH.
THE LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT LIKE TO INCREASE REVENUE FROM SPEEDING TICKETS.
A GOOD CASH COW AND A BIG PART OF THEIR SALARIES.

Here are my sisters prices in Pounds Sterling and its not cheap but the villa does sleep up to 14 people so its not too bad out of season

http://www.villapetittrianon.co.uk/contacts.htm - Villa (sleeps 14)
http://www.villapetittrianon.co.uk/new_apartment.htm - Flat (sleeps 6 and is right on the beach front which is good because its the busiest surfing beach in europe)
