Anyone have any clue on how that new i7 intel chip runs BOINC? I have done a bit of looking up stuff on the internet, I think it may run 4 or 8 apps at once. Just wondering if anyone had some insight into this new chip. Thanks

Don't you mean the i7? It's an X4HT, 4 cores (8 threads) & will run 8 wu's at a time.

yup, oops no spell check for that 1 yet. It reads up well in my mind for a good cruncher. I'm going to send santa a note, and hopefully she thinks I have been nice.

Got just back from supplier. Have everything ready to go - just need i7, ram & mobo. However, it'll just be sitting there for a couple of months as cpu,ram & mobo just too expensive for me at this time. But when the prices drop to an acceptable level, it will be up & running within 24 hours.

Specs so far.....

Coolermaster R1000 case
Jeantech 1000w psu
LG 22x DVD-RW
Emprex 19" Widescreen
Vista 64bit
4x Samsung 1tb HD's
Geoforce 9500GT

I bet that will increase my farms rac
