For the new year, we'll run a project we haven't done for the POTM before:

Voted for Pawly's old pet project (Malaria) just to tie things up and keep it close! Besides, climate is too long, Primes are boring (besides, I already have lots of credit here), and Tanpaku has been offline forever.

Could anyone invite me to Malariacontrol.net if you have any invitation code remaining, please?

Oh well, I'm asking because when I try to create an account, there's a field asking for this: Invitation Code
A valid invitation code is required to create an account.

That being said, if I try to join malariacontrol.net via the Boinc manager program, it does say registration is closed, that's why I tried the website instead. Thank you anyway!

Edit: - Also getting numerous download failures on cosmology on various rigs. Looks like the potm for Jan could be problematic.

The problem with cosmology seems to have cleared itself. Was constantly getting download failures - looking good so far.....

I WAS HAVING TROUBLES WITH WU'S CRASHING AND FREEZING UP THE COMPUTE.
RIGHT NOW I ONLY HAVE ONE BOX RUNNING AI FROM DEC POTM UNTIL MONDAY
AND ONE BOX AT HOME RUNNING SETI. ALL MY HARDWARE PROBLEMS COULD HAVE BEEN PART OF THE TROUBLES BUT NOT SURE. I'M PICKING UP A P4 2.8G ON FRIDAY SO I'LL TRY AGAIN AS SOON AS ITS UP AND RUNNING.

I have it running on 3 boxes and there ok. I don't know what kind of set up you have but I thing you need at least 1 gig of ram to run this project.I never tried it on my other 2 boxes to see if they run ok.

Let's find out what's up with the cosmos this month!

I had 2 WUs out of 6 reporting download error, but they're replaced right away by valid WUs, so it's not a big deal.

As of Jan. 1st, 3h25 PM ET:

Total credit 5,862,687
Recent average credit 6,539

Canada is 33rd by RAC and 24th by Total credits.

Let's keep these numbers climbing!

Me likes this Project's credits.
3 days at 7000+ within a week compared to the usual 3500.

Yes this project is very generous on credits!

Made me smile to get 140 credits for a 5000-second task. Most take me about 15 000-20 000 seconds though.

Just added another X2 to the farm. Must admit, I'm sorely tempted to build another rig with the new Phenom II's, especially the 940 @3.0ghz. I don't normally buy CPU's until they are @ £120 or less, but as I've several AM2+ boards.....hmmmmmmmm

The Dragon Cometh

Phenom II 940BE @3.7GHz (NB@2400 HTT@2000)
ASUS M3A78-T
2x VisionTech 4870's
4 GB Muskin XP2 ram (2x2GB)@1066MHz
Win XP sp2
PCP&C 750w PSU
Custom Watercooled

I set it loose on AI and it's devouring the workunits
I should get about 6300 credits per day on AI

That tangle of tubes and wires is what I use for testing overclocking
I've had the 940 upto 3.960GHz for 3Dmark06
and a SuperPI run @4.020GHz
I'm sure I can get higher with a better CPU block

Nice one Frank. I see you have the M3A78 mobo. Will that support server software? Reason I ask is that I have an M3N78 Pro mobo & used it for my server but unfortunately, it does not support server software as it's meant to be a HTPC board.
