Hello,

I've been running climate prediction for a number of years on my AMD 1800+ with 512mB RAM but I was having a few issues with it.
I was always well back in the stats, that box is a bit slow.
I joined Team Canada way back in the beginning, because I'm ...........Canadian!!

This spring I built myself a new rig; Asus M3N78-EM mobo, AMD 5000+ 2.6 GHz dual core, 4 Gig RAM, running WinXP.
Now I'm moving up fast, number 20 in the team, running two models at once makes the credit add up faster.

My third computer is an older IBM Aptiva, saved from being landfill.
It's 650Mhz, 384mb RAM, running a slimmed down WinXP, set up as a music server connected to my home stereos.

Thanks for the welcome.

Thanks LePandaRoux, It runs pretty sweet, boots up in 20 seconds. I paid good bucks for the hardware, so no way is it gonna sit there idling, put it to work, for the good of science.

Thanks Pawley, I have no idea what the credits are good for, but no matter, I am just happy to put my hardware to valuable use, 100% CPU use all the time.

Welcome to the team. Good tip: - As the AM3 chips are now slowly entering the market, once they hit mainstream production, look out for the Phenom Quads at a greatly reduced price. Your board should easily take a Phenom 920/940 AM2 & should you do so, don't forget to update the bios. Currently running a M3N78 Pro as well as an M3A78 Pro on the farm.

9950 on the 3A & 9600 on the 3N.
