Hello all,

I am a new user from the Ottawa Valley. I have been using seti@home since 1999, before they started using the Boinc program. I think I was still on my P120 computer so you can imagine how slow it was for me to do even one task. :)
Next month will be 10 years since I started with seti.

I am a member on the Canada team for 9 projects. For some reason the link for LHC won't work so I can't join that team. I think it is very exciting that we can help with these projects.

Welcome! Nice to see some more vintage crunchers from the "seti classic" days!

Yeah, I know Seti well. I think my husband and I started shortly after we heard about the project and thought it was a great idea.

My 10 projects are:
MilkyWay
Lattice
GPU
LHC - this is the one I am not with the Canada group because it wouldn't work
Einstein
Seti
Docking
Rosetta
Climate Predictor
xSimap

My computer is older It is a Compaq Presario AMD Athlon 64 3800. Need a new one soon.

Welcome to the team. The 3800 is a pretty good chip, & still have one running on the farm. How much memory onboard? If only 1gb, it would perform better if you upgraded it to at least 2gb.

I got 2Gb of RAM. That is the max for this board. It is a good computer. No problems except when it was dirty. lol People should really clean out their computer more than every three years. btw Shop Vac is excellent for blowing out computers.
