This seems like a very friendly community.. I'm looking forward to (hopefully) making some good buds here and contributing.
My primary box is an AMD quad 3.2 running @ 3.6 ghz...yay...
I've got my Intel laptop crunching all day long as well... it's steady.
Finally , I put together a system made out of parts I replaced.. an AMD 6400 dual core..

Thanks alot for the warm welcome... I built the second tower as a dedicated cruncher so I decided to throw the Windows 7 RC on it today (seems pretty solid). I have a quick newb question.. can I run more than one proj. on one computer at the same time? If so, does it split the resources evenly?
Oh ya GPU's I've got a GTX 260 896MB on my main, A 8800 GTS on my secondary.. and my laptop has a 8600 GT (not sure if it's CUDA tho)... do the GPUs make a big diference?

You can run several projets on a same computer, BOINC will manage each projet and it will split your ressource between the projets.

Cuda is for GPU from 8xxx so, 8600 is CUDa compatible. But this card is not really fast to crunch...and in a laptop...it can be dangerous if it is too warm.

Well, after, your GTX260 and 8800GTS are good GPUs, you can use it on BOINC. It crunchs very fast compare to CPU !!!

Thanks for the info.. I tried GPUGrid with my GTX 260 but noticed my gpu temp shot to 99C.. too hot I think for any kind of prolonged time... no?! My case is a bit cramped atm as it may be too focused on cooing the cpu (big ass cpu heat sink hogging the air.. see.. COOLER MASTER V8) which btw, rarely goes over 40c under full load (prime95 torture)... so I might try a new case.. Antec Skeleton? Geez.. this stuff is awesome!
