They seem to be having a lot of "Output File Absent" errors & Nick is looking into it. He's stopped the project servers for the time being as there's a problem with Net2.0 Framework.

Also, the boards are very difficult to read with white text on grayish background. He pm'ed me asking for more info as his is ok, so sent him a screenshot.

Also, when Ramsey d/l'ed files, I kept getting Windows error boxes stating Ramsey has to close down, Sorry etc etc. So suspended project.

As I've already joined, as soon as the project allows it, I'll join Team Canada.

Ramsey's down since 6pm UTC yesterday. Nick's moving DB to another rig. Hoping this don't go the way of RS.

Nick is putting some very serious effort into his project. Currently running with "opp Aps" & testing others. His 64bit app is flying high. I swapped out the X2 6000 (3ghz) from Andrea's rig (put X2 5000 2.6ghz in) & put it into the XP X64 rig & it's knocking spots off my quad on rac. Been clocking up 10k or more per day since

Wow, those "Op Apps" are doing great. Originally expected to hit 1 mill on New Year's Eve, now it's Nov 14th & coming down rapidly. At the current rate, it should be by the end of this month/early next month.

Just by crunching Ramsey. It's the current version of the project app - V1.16. Unfortunately, the project is effectively dead until December. Nick has had numerous problems for the past several days, to which he was having difficulties & decided to take the project in a different direction. He is now putting life, family & graduation 1st & will come back to the project with a better algorythm sometime in December.

Between now & then, he has stated that he will be working on improving everything & thanks all the crunchers who have helped him.

Project Changes

You're welcome. Unfortunately, when the project comes back, it looks like it will be non-boinc due to the problems Nick has been having regarding credit & the setting up of credit allowances.

Again, unfortunately, the dross has surfaced & I hope that this does not put Nick off. All I can say to this is WELL DONE SETI@USA! For further info, click on the link provided in my last post & read the thread through.

Edit: - Have approx 120k in credits pending & have asked Nick what he intends to do with them. Not fussed if lost as Nick has gone out of his way to really help his volunteers & get on with his life & maintain the project at the same time. It takes courage to publicly state that one made errors & as far as Nick is concerned, I will be back to his project regardless of credit, but not all of the farm of course.

It looks like Nick is ready to shutdown project. Stopped crunching & had to reset project on all internal rigs, as all the wu's were cancelled by server as redundant results. Oh well, back to earth with a bump. Won't hit 2 mill now until approx Feb 8th

Update from site

News
January 6, 2009 Happy Holidays!/We're working on it!
I hope you all had great holidays. Dr. Furcy and I are making progress on the new application - we hope to settle definitively on a new direction by the end of this month, and then I will begin implementing it. Stay tuned guys! Thanks!

December 5, 2008 I'm still alive! Except now I have a diploma!
Hey Everyone, long time no see! My college career is finally coming to an end next week and then I'll be spending most of my time on Ramsey@Home. A computer science professor I initially worked on this project with (Dr. Furcy) has expressed a very strong interest in helping me with the new app, so hopefully with his help we can get this project back up and running by the end of January. Please stay tuned for further anouncements! Thanks

Hey all, I've started implementing the new programs and it's coming along pretty well. Hopefully I'll have some sort of alpha test by the end of this month. Sorry for the long wait!

Project back online, but has been having some problems. Nick stopped work generator so that he can resolve them. Project should be back up & running by Fri/Sat.

Nick has also started a test project....

RamseyTest

Ignore the "replace with project name" , it is ramseyTest.

Heading for 1k already (TC). Don't know what Nick has done with his app, but I find that XP X64 rig doing them faster than the rest. Later this week, will try it out on Win7 64 (waiting for delivery of more mobile racks).

ramseyTest now dead. Nick has found that beta apps can be done from within Boinc. Once all wu's reported in, he will transfer credit earned to main project.

Good to know - I've got 11 wus waiting to report but get the old "Project is temporarily shut down for maintenance" message. Hopefully I'll get credit, if not it's no big deal in the grand scheme of things...
