LOL! Well, that's kind of the point WereChild! To expose the team members to all the different projects. Take a peek at them and vote for the one that most interests you.

If you or anyone would like a particular project nominated for October, Just PM Grizz or myself and we can make it happen!

Ive read about the different projects but theres only so much a single box can run. I dont mind adding the project of the month on the list and run that for that month either.

And then replace it with the new POTM the following month? That sounds like a good idea.

I'm with you Pawly - I 'm not much into XtremLab; they don't really do any direct science; just count CPU cycles for a 10 minute stretch. Does anyone know for sure if the results are even used by BOINC Devs?

XtremLab is a BOINC project for measuring the free resources available on personal computers involved in large-scale distributed computing. Ultimately, these measurements will be used to improve the design and implementation of current systems, such as BOINC. We currently support Linux and most Windows versions (but not Windows ME or 9*).

This is what is on the Xtremlab website. Canada is not limited to BOINC, we also have teams on other grid computing projects. If you wish to try them check here, if there is no Canada team create one.

I gave it 30 days from the first post so it should end Sept 1 at about 12:30PM so get your votes in now only 11 days left.

Ufluids looks fairly interesting! By September 1st I should hopefully have a second linux box running to crunch these - Fascinating studies, indeed.

uFluids has been a little sketchy with work for the last couple of months so it may not be the best choice for POTM. However, I will throw the resource share to 1000 and throw it on a few boxes just in case work comes in (if it wins of course!)...

We'll run the second place project for as long as Ufluids has no work. I plan to set a computer with Ufluids and Xtremlab up with the resource share of Ufluids high if it wins, that way if it has work it'll run more than Xtremlab.

A very large workunit set should be available on Wednesday, August 29. Only a small amount of workunits will be ready for downloading until then.

Good news from UFluids. :-D
