HOWDY
JUST CHECKED OUT THE TEAM TOOLBAR. LOOKS REALLY GOOD. TOO BAD I CAN'T USE IT IN PUPPY LINUX. IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE RUNNING THE TOOLBAR IN LINUX (WITHOUT USING WINE)?? I'D LIKE TO USE THE TOOLBAR CAUSE STARTING BOINC IN PUPPY INVOLVES A COUPLE MORE CLICKS THAN WINDOZE. IF THERE ISN'T ANYBODY RUNNING IN LINUX THEN IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET THE SOURCE CODE FOR IT AND PERHAPS I CAN COME UP WITH A LINUX VERSION. OR MAYBE THE HOST OF THE TOOLBAR CAN LOOK INTO IT.
I DO NOT WANT TO USE IT IN ANY WINDOZE I HAVE ALREADY INSTALLED CAUSE I DON'T LET WINDOZE CONNECT TO THE INTERNET. BUT BEFORE I GO OFF ON A TANGENT ABOUT PUPPY, THERE IS ALREADY A GOOD SECTION ON OPERATING SYSTEMS IN THIS FORUM WITH LOTS OF PUPPY TURDS.
PLEASE LET US "OTHER O/S" CRUNCHERS KNOW IF A TOOLBAR IS AVAILABLE. NOW THAT I MENTION IT. IS THERE ANY MAC USERS IN OUR TEAM?? DOES THE TOOLBAR WORK ON A MAC??

Heh! Funny you should post some questions (Good ones too! I'll look into them.), I was just looking into the problem with the "Posts" button (Not much progress in that department apparently).

I'll keep this thread updated.

Forgot all about yer questions Zapper! Sorry Dude! Here is what i found out.

The toolbar will not work with Camino or Safari, however it will work with the Mac version of FireFox (with the exception of the radio).
FF seems to to be the way to go. I read that there is some type of bug when using Ubuntu w/FF but it seems to be just the email notifier and the radio.

In other words as long as you use Internet Explorer or FireFox, you will be able to use all the project links and (I'm pretty sure) the RSS Feeds. You may not be able to use the Radio or the Email Notifier.

Also, I have just added the Gadgets Button. It has a number of preloaded gadgets (Games, TV and helpful little tools) and you can add more with just a few clicks. I am not sure how these will work with the different O/S's but would appreciate any feedback from our users.

THANKS FOR THE INFO. I DECIDED TO TRY IT IN FIREFOX FROM PUPPY BUT IT SHOWS UP WITH NO BUTTONS. DARN. SO I BOOTED UP WINDOWS AND CHECKED IT OUT IN IE. GOTTA SAY ITS PRETTY DAMN IMPRESSIVE. NOT BAD AT ALL. I SENT YOU A PM A WHILE BACK WITH IDEAS FOR THE FORUM AND I SEE MOST OF WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT IS IN THE TOOLBAR.
DUE TO MY HATRED OF WINDOZE I WON'T BE USING THE TOOLBAR AT HOME BUT SINCE I AM FORCED TO USE XP AT WORK, THE TOOLBAR WILL BE RUNNING AS SOON AS I GET TO WORK. ANY WHISPERS ABOUT LINUX IN THE FUTURE??

I'm afraid you would have to use (GASP!!) Ubuntu!

WELL AT LEAST UBUNTU IS BETTER THAN XP IN MY BOOKS. I'LL GIVE IT A WHIRL WITH UBUNTU WHEN I GET HOME.

Ok, so the Projects Tab was getting REALLY LONG and the "CanMail" Feature was not one of my better ideas. Soo BYE BYE CanMail, HELLO "Stat/Links"!! Check it out and let me know what other links I could add to make your lives easier!!

SOUNDS GREAT. I'LL CHECK IT OUT AT WORK ON MONDAY. THATS THE ONLY PLACE I CAN RUN THE TOOLBAR. AND LOVE IT. THE STAT/LINKS IS A SWEET IDEA. HOW ABOUT A STAT/LINK TO THE POTM SITE ?? I WOULD USE THAT AS MUCH AS THE MAIN STAT/LINK. ( DAILY, IF NOT MORE )

resurrecting an old thread - what has happened to our team toolbar - I used it fairly often and now, after reloading a system that went pffffffffffffffffffft - I can't find it anymore - has it passed the way of the dodo??

YA , IT LOOKS LIKE THE TOOLBAR AND THE DODO ARE NOW ROOMMATES. I'M NOT SURE BUT I THINK IT WAS WITH THE OLD FORUM.
MAYBE SOMEBODY WOULD BE INTERESTED IN STARTING A NEW ONE?

Toolbar still works but no more "Forum Post Updates", not that it ever worked properly anyway! lol i'm foolin around with it now and see that i have more stuff to play with.

i recommend that everyone refresh or better yet re install the toolbar http://ohcanada.ourtoolbar.com/
