 "UP THE REPUBLIC"

Here in Britain, 88% of the population wanted a referendum (so that they could say "NO") but that pig ignorant jock "Gordon Brown" told them all to get stuffed.
Now those snail eaters "Le Froggies" are demanding that we start getting all our armed forces combined into a "Euro" farce- sorry, Force.

The politicians must really think we are that thick - just look at the Nato forces in Afghanistan, the only Europeans that are actually fighting on the front line are the British. The rest of Nato - in their naafi's drinking.

As far as I'm concerned, the "Euro Treaty & Euro Army" is the best joke on this thread so far

I think the Irish people should send Brussels a note with just 3 words.............

"Pogue Ma Honne"

Not quite the right spelling Sirius but my sentiments exactly, for those non irish out there the words that Sirius quoted are irish for 'Kiss mi arse'

Thanks Timmy. After living here for the past 48 years, my Gaelic is a mite rusty. Also, for those "Canucks" with French blood, no offence was intended in my previous post. It just annoys me that Germany kicked the S**T out of France twice in the 20th century & now they are snug as a bug in a rug

There's no accounting for taste

Couple things here:

First - I LOVE those cartoons Timmy!! Keep 'em coming!

Second - Good on the Irish for standing up for themselves and good on yer Government allowing you to have yer say.

Third - As bad as the British Military has it in Afghanistan there is a NATO Country that is drawing far more fire and despite calls for support, NATO allies simply wouldn't send in reinforcements until there was serious talk of just fulfilling the mission time commitment and then leaving.

That country is Canada.

Reinforcements have been promised ( not too sure if any have materialized ) and we have extended the mission until 2011.

Thanks Pawly, I will try and keep the cartoons going but I will have to sweep out the old cobwebs in my brain to think of some good content.

I agree with you about the Canucks contribution but personally I dont think we (meaning UK Canada and US and the rest) should be there still, but if you are sent then you just have to get on with it to the best you can. I served in the first gulf war to liberate Kuwait and there was a great shortfall in supplies and equipment for us guys to perform our jobs properly and to this day in Iraq and Afghanistan it hasnt changed much and I dont think it will ever change no matter which forces or country you serve for.

The europhiles are beginning to gang up on the Irish and make them vote again but we were the only country to vote, 26 other countries were denied that choice because maybe they were scared of the result, makes you think...

Agreed Pawly, however, I did say European. The so called Euro Armies would be stuffed without the North Americans!!!!

The No 1 Joke of the 21st Century

The British Prime Minister "The Right Ignorant Jock, Gordon "Coward" Brown, stated in today's newspapers that even though he personally thinks the "Lisbon Treaty" is finished, he's leaving it to the Irish to reconsider their options. Even though the treaty is finished the Eurocats, ooops sorry, Eurocrats are still pushing to get the treaty ratified.

Gawd help us if this is what's governing us.

Personally, I think the defunct U.S.S.R. has been resurrected & renamed:.............

Union of Socialist States of Britain

The No 2 Joke of the 21st Century

Union of Socialist States of Britain

Britain ratifies treaty

Why bother asking us to vote when they don't need us?

Treason is still a hanging offence in Britain - I wonder if anyone has the guts to implement it?
