Back in 1963 a new tv series started here in the UK. The family started watching it & we all became engrossed in it, so much we never missed an episode.

Unfortunately for me, I had only recenty started Secondary School (High School on your side) when the final 2 hour special was broadcast & I was a baaaaaaaad boy, so mum banned me from watching it.

To date, I have never seen the finale & often thought about ordering direct from the States, but the DVD's I've seen are bootleg & I want original good copies.

Imagine my surprise to find that on the 4th August, it is being released on DVD with 15 episodes per volume (as there was 240 episodes, making 16 volumes in total). I will definitely be collecting these.

Clue 1: A Quinn Martin Production
Clue 2: A one-armed man

Anyone remember this one?

Wasnt there a movie (starring Harrisson Ford and Tommy Lee Jones) made with the same title?

Is it the original series of 'The Fugitive' that the Harrison Ford film was based on? I saw that on some reruns and the real fugitive had one arm and Dr Kimble was falsely accused and on the run :hmm:

Yep, spot on guys, it was the Fugitive. They picked the right actor for the part of Dr Richard Kimble. Even now, 45 years later, I don't think there has been a series to touch it.

Here's another one for you...which came close!

Clue 1: A Quinn Martin Production
Clue 2: Main Charactor..Inspector Erskine
Clue 3: It ran for 249 episodes (I think)
Clue 4: 1965 - 1974

SAINT - Brilliant (Roger Moore) (Ian Ogilvy, so/so)
DANGERMAN Brilliant
THE PRISONER Excellent - have complete series on server
PERSUADERS Great pairing of Roger Moore & Tony Curtis
THE FLYING DOCTOR Vaguely remember it
AVENGERS Great - The New Avengers even better, especially Joanna Lumley as Purdey
SPACE 1999 Interesting just a couple of disks short for the whole series.

HOW WELL DID THOSE DO OVER THERE ?
Pretty well

F.B.I I also enjoyed Efram Zimbalist's previous show with Ed "Cookie" Byrne...77 Sunset Strip.

Why do you think I want my server fully populated with tb drives?

For me, the best Sherlock Holmes films were the old classics with Basil Rathbone & Nigel Bruce. Peter Cushing came close in "The Hound Of The Baskervilles". Growing up watching these, I couldn't rate Jeremy Brett. As for a video capture card, not needed, get a DVD recorder. I'll have to check with my brother if they can connect to a computer. He has a 160gb drive in his. At the moment, I'm trying to figure out how to bypass macrovision on all my tapes. Crack that & all my videos are going on the server/s.

I envy North America as one can buy all the films/series they wish as over here, it really is difficult to track them down. For example, one of my favourite cop series is CHiPs & have the complete series 1 on DVD & Server. Still trying to track down the rest.

Three guesses what I think is the all time greatest television series bar none. Starred two Canadians, one was missing a finger which he had blown or shot off serving in WWII. Can you guess what it was? :vulcan:

That's not fair Kalu, give us some clues. Was it "Police Story" which starred William Shatner & Leonard Nimoy at one time?

@Zappdog.......... https://Dacom-UK.homeserver.com/remote - no problems here with that access code. Post comments in Server Test Thread, thanks. So far, Powerpack 1 seems to be ok - still several tests to run.

Yep, H 5-O. Didn't realise that it went to 12 seasons & originally broadcast in Sept 68. Jeebers, I'm getting old  Still looking forward to 4th Aug for the Fugitive Season 1 - THAT's going on server instantly  IF I have enough space left by then  As soon as the TB Drives come down to £70 approx, I'm going to get 40, & that still won't be enough

Be careful, X-Files NOT on there yet. I have to keep a % free for when upgrading drives - No free space, no upgrading without losing files. With the complete 9 seasons of X-Files & 8 seasons of Charmed, together with others I want to put on, requires over 2tb of space & only got 512gb left. That's the main reason why I WANT 40 1tb drives

Are you being serious? I thought you knew the answer and were just toying with me. William Shatner is a Canadian and was in the show I'm referring to. Leonard Nimoy is not a Canadian though, he was born in Boston. I thought the answer was obvious but maybe not, just look to my sig for more clues.....that's if this one doesn't do it> :vulcan:

 My humble apologies Kalu, I was not toying with you. The last 8 days have been SNAFU for me & believe or not, the solutions were simple ones :oops2:

Yep I have ALL episodes of EVERY season & EVERY spinoff, with the exception of the last one - they stopped doing it on Video. GUESS WHAT - once tb drives have come down to a reasonable cost, I am going to get 20x 5 bay E-Sata boxes & including internal for both Server & workstation now that it is attached to WHS, 135 tb drives - AND that still won't be enough for my media DVD's/Tapes.............

At the moment............1941 DVD's...3000 Videos (not including the 640 blank tapes with 3/5 films per tape) - I like TNG & Andrea prefers Voyager, but regardless, they are ALL going on the server!!!

Hey Zappdog, if you haven't already seen it, check out the NT folder

I have the Prisoner too. It's such an awesome series. I was so disappointed that none of my friends have ever heard of it.

I'm also gaga over Doctor Who - both the original tv run and the audio plays from Big Finish.

I have fond memories of watching britcoms like Are you being served and keeping up appearances with my grandmother, she really got me into the british entertainment. She got my mom addicted to Coronation Street, but I still haven't developed a taste for it. I hate sappy soaps. Give me space operas any day!

I have way too many videos that I haven't watched yet. It'd probably take me years to get through it all. I kept buying up external drives until my friends starting accusing me of plotting to take over the world through storage space! 40 tb, drool!
