Hello everyone,

I am new to seti@home and just wanted to drop by the forums and say hi :-D

I figure I should join a team and decided on Team Canada.

I will have two core i7's and one core i5 crunching WU's

Apparently it's a bad time to join seti as according to their website "The project is down while we remodel our database servers". I tried today but the client just says "Error No work available to process". Anyone know when they will be back up?

Hi There. Wow those will be some crazy numbers you will be crunching with those CPU's. Have any GPU's you will be crunching with as well?

SETI had 1 or 2 of their serves go down in the last month. By donations, they were able to purchase some new ones. They have been down for a few weeks now, but every once in a while I have been getting a single WU, so I think they must be in testing mode. Welcome to Team Canada.

BTW there are a few other good jobs to take while SETI is down, you can alwasy stop them and let SETI run full throttle once there problems are resolved. If your into Astronomy (SETI), the Milky Way and Cosmotology ones might suit you. I myself was going to have only 2-3 projects myself, but broadened the horizon a bit since they all seem to have their down days.

I have a GTX 295 I can use. It's a dual GPU card. My mother's computer has an ATI 5770. So that should bump of my score a little :-D

Nice one's, The 295 will work great at SETI once they get their issues put behind em. Are your computers running GPU projects now? The 295 will work with SETI, DNETC, MILKY WAY, COLLATZ, GPU GRID. The ati 5770 will work great at DNETC or COLLATZ (the only 2 so far that use single precision in their gpu app) . The ati has 800 stream processors so it runs pretty quick.

Welcome to the team JC. As you can see from my sig, there are a wide range of projects to crunch. with those rigs of yours, it'll be best to run a few projects, that way, whenever one is offline, your rigs will not be idle.

Seti is estimated to be back up within a week or 2, but i personally am holding off till the new year. I think they'll need some time to iron out any bugs/problems with the new servers.
