SO I was poking around the SETI store just a few minutes ago http://www.setiathome-store.com/ and see that they are clearing out their merchandise. I hope the store doesn't totally close (I'll look into it) but decided to order up a hat and a two long sleeve t-shirts.

Here's the damage (there might be duty, I'll let ya know)

Item Name SubTotal
2 SAH - Black L/S Tee XXL 13.98
1 Liquid Metal Hat 4.99
Subtotal: 18.97
Shipping: 15.50
Tax: 0.00
Total: 34.47

Pretty damn cheap if ya ask me!

Did anyone ever think of making Team Canada T Shirts?

Well the short answer is yes. But there are a few problems.

1: We aren't allowed to sell anything via this website.
2: Someone's credit card would be needed or PayPal account to collect the funds.
3: Since this website is free, what do we use the money for?

No one was home when the postma..erm..postperson rang (I wonder if he/she rang twice? lol ) so I had to go to the post office to pick up a package. My order was correct and the quality of the shirts and hat were better than I expected. SWEET!! No duties were charged and it took 15 days via ground postal service.

So my comp will wear the hat (for now) I'll be sportin' the long sleeves soon enough! So all in all a happy and painless experience from start to finish.

Get orderin' and support SETI!

If the Tshirt sale was non-profit would that still apply?
I know I've been a member of other forums in the past (not BOINC related) that have done Tshirt sales by taking orders and getting them all together, then making the shirts in one batch and sending them out. The shirts that are unsold from people backing out end up getting snatched up by people that DO want the shirts but didnt reserve them for themselves, at the same price (the just-breaking-even price).

Someone should just make them personally, then sell them through direct contact. The individual could charge for the cover of the shirts, plus something like $5 extra per t-shirt to donate to SETI. Of course, the bill would be shown to the public and SETI would confirm the donation to check no money was pocketed.
