When it's complete, will have to read the books to calibrate it. Once done, will video it in motion. The next delivery will have the pedestal casing, motor & legs.

"It's not me, honest, gov'ner".

Delivery running late again. I agree with Werechild, I think they do it deliberately just to keep us drooling about the finished product. There again, this time around, I'm thinking, maybe they've held it back so that they can send out the final 5 issues (normally receive 4 issues every 28 days), If so, I can't wait for this week to be over as THEY'RE due now!!!!

Have been tinkering around with it & the space required for when it's calibrated is a lot more then I estimated. I'm hoping that when completed, it will fit on the coffee table so that I can video it.

This is getting frustrating  10 days overdue already! It's going to take up some space when it's complete as I've calibrated it.............

Received notification from the publishers today stating that they've had a problem with their distributers. Issues 48 to 51 should be with all subscribers by the end of the week. Unfortunately, the last issue (52) will not be dispatched until 14th March

I'm actually getting excited about this!!
I watched a "Docu-Drama" recently called Einstein and Eddington in which they showed a Room Sized Model Solar System in Arthur Eddington's "lab". I immediately thought of Sirius!

I'll post the movie in our "Theater" soon.

Jeebers..........Thanks for shaming me, Pawly :oops2: How in hell I missed that, I don't know, as I love those type of historical programs. Will have to watch out for the DVD (or order in direct).

It's getting very very frustating...........I'm currently sitting at Andrea's rig, & directly across the room is the solar system, unmoving  Hurry up next week

Quick question: - how safe is Youtube? Is it anything like Facebook/Myspace?

Man, 24 to 52 is not like 4-5 more pieces, but 28 more!!!!!!!

Not really fair, in my humble opinion. Sorry for you.

No need to feel sorry. From the looks of the ESMO, I thought that it would be complete in about 24 parts. No matter though, as I think it will make an excellent companion piece to the Solar System, & as it's of the same quality, but not as high. Will edit this post & show ESMO when I've scanned it in & added to Photobucket.

EMSO on Youtube

The publishers have provided a 9 minute video of the Earth Moon & Sun Orbiter - Going to see if it still has one for the Solar System, or does everyone want me to set mine up & video it?

Edit: - :oops2: Solar System site no longer available.

These publishers really are sneaky  Received a very large parcel this morning with a different code, so didn't know what to expect. Received the psu & the 1st 3 parts of the ESMO. Looks good.

On powering up, had a slight problem - either the psu was insufficient, power wise, or I had tightened the planet gears too much. Spent all morning, stripping it down to check. Problem sorted & it looks good.

Currently videoing it (only 5 min's worth as it will take too long for all planets to rotate - at the moment, 7 rotating fairly well).

Yep, finally got there  created Youtube account & it's uploading the video now. Unfortunately, I don't own a Caamcorder & it was videod using my digital camera at the maximum res of 640.

Next time brother visits, I'll ask him to record it & update Youtube. (Jeebers, it's only a 5min video, yet it's still uploading - 12mins so far).

Edit: - looks like I got it wrong. Camera recorded video in AVI format, but youtube prefers MPeg 2 or 4. Video still trying to upload so cancelled it & converted it to Mpeg 2 & uploading now (fingers crossed).

Hi Zappdog, I thought you'd like it. It started in March last year. Photo on the way (same as last one posted). No, I'm not that good at maths.

Was thinking of putting a white background on the workbench with some side lights & doing the video again.

Can't wait for the next delivery of EMSO - I think that this will be a bit more complicated, but worth it.

Thanks. Hopefully, by the time EMSO is complete, I'll have a decent camcorder.
